If you’re anything like me, you revel in old bookshops. Although in an unlikely location, Saratoga Springs’ Lyrical Ballad Bookstore is one of the finest bookshops I have ever had the privilege of entering. Barring those containing mostly first editions and autographed manuscripts which would strip me of more coin than a vintage Bugatti, it might be the finest.

I’m basically a creature of habit. But then again, I love to travel. The travel alarm clock satisfies both my reticent and adventurous sides.
Supping in Saratoga Springs
I mentioned recently that Simply Refined would be relocating to Chicago in the fall, but for the next few months we’ll be based in Saratoga Springs, NY. I just moved up yesterday morning, and am living in a hotel in downtown Saratoga with my father until our apartment is ready later in the week.

All the young ladies I know have spent the last few weeks fretting about graduation frocks, and I must admit the commotion got the better of me. I got the itch for some new “graduation shoes.”

Well, it’s finally here – Graduation Week. I’ve got my gown and cap in hand, the campus is beginning to team with parents and relatives, and the University has planted a few thousand flowers to compensate for the mediocre weather.
