Campari, A Better Bitters
When the warm weather roles around, I put down the smokey stuff and pick up Campari. Bitter, dry, refreshing, and low in alcohol, I can’t think of a better summer refresher than this classic Italian spritzer.
Ti Punch – The Beach in a Glass
The Tiki Cocktail revival has been well under way for a few years now, and rum is pretty clearly marked as the up and coming spirit trend. My only problems is I just don’t like my drinks very sweet, and some of these can get really sweet. The spirit itself is already made from sugar for crying out loud. Finally though I found a perfectly simple rum concoction with a enough bite to keep me wanting more – the Ti Punch.
Supping in Saratoga Springs
I mentioned recently that Simply Refined would be relocating to Chicago in the fall, but for the next few months we’ll be based in Saratoga Springs, NY. I just moved up yesterday morning, and am living in a hotel in downtown Saratoga with my father until our apartment is ready later in the week.
A Different Gin
This time of year usually finds me putting down the whisky and brandy in favor of lighter spirits and cocktails. But, with our unseasonably cool temperatures I’ve been forced to find something new.
Toasting Myself
No, I’m not double-fisting my whisky tonight. I’m quintuple-fisting. As of Monday evening I am officially finished with my undergraduate education and will be graduating next week. So, I decided to treat myself to a little Tuesday night whisky tasting. You’ll be able to read all about it soon on Gentleman’s Gazette, so keep your eyes peeled.
