Elegant Lines
The final day on my recent London trip was a Sunday, perfect for a bit of museum gawking. Too many options as usual, but I eventually settled on The Strand’s dynamic duo: The Courtauld and Somerset House. The Savoy being around the corner for tea may have swayed me a bit, but more on that later.
Vanity Fair: Think Hepburn!
Before you ask, yes, I know that’s not a picture of Ms. Hepburn. My girlfriend picked up a copy of November’s Vanity Fair, with a couture photoshoot entitled “Think Hepburn!” I was sitting across the room reading another magazine, and she excitedly called me over, shouting “Look! There’s a whole shoot of Anderson & Sheppard suits.” I don’t have to tell you all I was over to the couch eagerly leaning over her shoulder faster than you can say drape-cut.

Not So Modern Manners
I ordered this book a few weeks ago for my thesis, and I just had a chance to look through it the other day. It has a lot of funny, charming, and more than slightly anachronistic things in it – which is to be expected, considering it was published in 1872.
Film Inspiration: The Thin Man
Most nights this past week ended with me closing up the rest of my apartment, settling down in the bedroom, and turning on a movie. Now this isn’t unusual by any means, but this week I spent working my way through the wonderful The Thin Man films.
