Vanity Fair: Think Hepburn!

Before you ask, yes, I know that’s not a picture of Ms. Hepburn.  My girlfriend picked up a copy of November’s Vanity Fair, with a couture photoshoot entitled “Think Hepburn!”  I was sitting across the room reading another magazine, and she excitedly called me over, shouting “Look!  There’s a whole shoot of Anderson & Sheppard suits.”  I don’t have to tell you all I was over to the couch eagerly leaning over her shoulder faster than you can say drape-cut.

Lo and behold, the shoot is styled after Funny Face, and to keep things looking authentic, the stylist chose to go with Mr. Astaire’s favorite tailor.  Audrey’s doppelganger is clad in this seasons couture, all bright colors, whimsical shapes, and excitement.  But, like great tailoring should, her male companion fades elegantly into the background at first, before catching your eye as it tires of the frocks’ intensity.  The lady is always allowed, and encouraged, to take center stage, but the gentleman is always right there, solid as a rock.

If you want to see the epitome of understated elegance, get thee to a magazine stand and pick up Vanity Fair!
