Library Days

Posted by: on Aug 6, 2010 | 3 Comments

So I’ve spent most of the past two weeks (with a brief Parisian interlude) in the National Art Library at the V&A doing research for my upcoming thesis. At first things were a bit slow and then I hit some big treasure troves of information and struggled to get through it all by closing time today. Original copies of fin de siecle fashion journals, Victorian advertising pamphlets, and hard to track down books were the order of the day(s), and I now have a lot of stuff to sort though.

This is more of a teaser post than anything, but as I get through my photographs of books &c., I will periodically be posting fashion plates, small blurbs from old journals, and other ephemera along with my ideas on the material as the project develops over the next 6-8 months.

It's going to be tough to study in the University library when I get back, very tough.
