Elegant Lines
The final day on my recent London trip was a Sunday, perfect for a bit of museum gawking. Too many options as usual, but I eventually settled on The Strand’s dynamic duo: The Courtauld and Somerset House. The Savoy being around the corner for tea may have swayed me a bit, but more on that later.
In Good Spirits at Berry Bros
I’ve written before about my love of Berry Bros. & Rudd in London’s St. James’s. You get that wonderful Ye Olde Shoppe feeling while getting throughly modern service and product. If you’re a frequent reader, you also know I love my smokey whisky. Smokey anything really. Something about that mix of meaty, vegetal, and medicinal flavors just really excites me. But, I digress.
A Side of Dressing
The old cliche tells us you don’t truly appreciate what you have until you don’t have it anymore, and that applies to all manners of things. While my 10 day London holiday has been amazing (I’ll bother you with more stories later), I have missed my daily ritual of getting dressed.
Back to Business
Well as we speak I’m on a plane back to the States and school. It’s been a fantastic week, full of interviews, festivities, and catching up with friends. Coming into this term’s finals, I probably won’t have the time to go through the interviews properly for a few weeks. But, after Christmas, keep your eyes peeled for some interesting stories about even more interesting people.
As a little teaser, I’ll tell you know we’ve got perfume, shoes, tailoring, tweed, and much much more coming up in the New Year. Plus, a Simply Refined gift guide next week. Until then, back to business.
