Back to Business

Well as we speak I’m on a plane back to the States and school.  It’s been a fantastic week, full of interviews, festivities, and catching up with friends.  Coming into this term’s finals, I probably won’t have the time to go through the interviews properly for a few weeks.  But, after Christmas, keep your eyes peeled for some interesting stories about even more interesting people.

As a little teaser, I’ll tell you know we’ve got perfume, shoes, tailoring, tweed, and much much more coming up in the New Year.  Plus, a Simply Refined gift guide next week.  Until then, back to business.

Well, here’s the surprise I promised: I’m currently on my way across the pond for a much-anticipated ten days in London.  I don’t want to give everything away now, but keep your eyes out for some special interviews, updates on what is going on in and around Savile Row, and lots of great pictures.

Enjoy the weekend, and hopefully Monday I’ll already have a few street style shots.

So I’ve spent most of the past two weeks (with a brief Parisian interlude) in the National Art Library at the V&A doing research for my upcoming thesis. At first things were a bit slow and then I hit some big treasure troves of information and struggled to get through it all by closing time today.

I just returned from a lovely weekend away from it all in Paris, and must say that I saw quite a few really elegant people and things standing out in the sea of sweat-pants-clad tourists Place Vendôme was as usual one of my favorite stops on the journey, with its windows full of glittery jewels and baubles of every sort.
