An Enjoyable Distraction from Esquire
Sometimes procrastination is the best motivation. While desperately resisting the pressure to just suck it up and write that paper I have looming, I hunkered down and watched the entire Esquire series Manufacture.
Mid-Week Movie – Kind Hearts and Coronets
This week has been busy, and as a break I treated myself to a glass of port and 1949′s Kind Hearts and Coronets. Alec Guiness plays about 90% of the characters, and to great avail. The film has a Wildean wit, with an Edwardian flair. Needless to say, I enjoyed it.
On Heritage as Such
As I have mentioned before, the last few weeks have seen a slew of fashion shows and events, and the onslaught of yet another season’s trends and particulars. But, oddly, one of the things making a statement these last few fashion cycles is the notion of the “heritage brand.”

Thinking of Sunshine ( and Rubinacci )
I’m sitting here in the middle of MidWest Snow-pocalypse 2011 trying my best to stay warm. I seriously have not seen a glimpse of everyone’s favorite star in two or three days, and while I love the gloomth provided by a blizzard that leave me homebound with a Maugham novel, pot of tea, and bottle of brandy, I would like to know the sun is still out there somewhere.
