Library Lost

As anyone who frequents Simply Refined will already know by now, I am more than a little bit obsessed with books. Each year when I move back to school, the first purchase of the year is invariably another bookshelf to accommodate my ever-expanding personal library. If you enter any room I frequent, chances are it has more books than furniture.
This week though, the converse is true. I am leaving for school next week and had to ship some books up to St. Louis ahead of me. My room at home is almost empty now, and I find myself in a sort of shock – the room really feels vacant in an odd way. Keeping my head up though, I just keep reminding myself that next weekend shelves will be full again. Anyone else feel a room isn’t complete without some good books? Or any other item you particularly love?

August 20, 2010If my library were missing, I may take my own life. I enjoy nothing more then wandering the stacks after the children have gone to bed, with a good drink (me with the drink, not the children going to bed with a drink), and sitting down to a good book. Or more then likely, standing in front of a shelf reading a portion of a book that gets returned to the shelf and another grabbed in its place.
