Espadrilles – Romping Around on Rope

I took a page out of Mr. Chris Cox’s book, or rather his blog, and sprung for a pair of espadrilles last week. As a longtime friend of Simply Refined, I am willing to give almost anything on Easy and Elegant Life a try, and yet again expectations have been exceeded.

I opted for a pair in a rather nice, albeit a little boring, shade of dark blue, and have been wearing them mostly as summer slippers. My normal leather numbers get all sweaty and gross if I don’t wear socks, and the last think I need in the summer is to be wearing two layers on my feet at home. The espadrilles are light, soft, and comfortable from the moment I opened the envelope (yes, shoes mailed in an envelope).

I don’t know how much I’ll wear them out of the house, since it’s been raining in London and St. Louis is not exactly St. Tropez…maybe with a pair of linen trousers and a spray bottle of salt water I can pretend. Check out Ropeysoles, and give em a try.
