Drizzly Day Dressing – Bowtie

So its supposed to be a bit rainy here later today, instantly triggering that impulse to toss on something dark, utilitarian, and a bit dull. But no, not today. Call me stubborn, but I am not giving up spring dressing just as I am warming up to the idea. Today’s solution: the bow tie.

While a bow tie with a suit or even a v-neck sweater feels perfectly at home when the temperature drops, something about a bow tie worn in shirt sleeves feels very spring to me. Obviously not your Churchillian spots or grosgrain evening tie, but something a bit jaunty and colorful…be daring. Purple paisley won out today, but the blue linen with little Pac Man-esque ghosts might just have to make an appearance next week.
