You have given sage advice. I would add that you have a list of all the details you want and go over each detail with your tailor. Make certain that he clips the list to your order.
You may still not get exactly what you asked for. If this is your first bespoke effort, I would suggest that you have a tweed jacket made before ordering a suit. Let your tailor tweak the odd jacket. If you can find a solid tweed you like all the better. Once you have found a tailor that you like, stick with him. Most of us do not need nine tailors.
