Cozy & Casual

This might be the best casual look I’ve seen in a while.  It’s from the new Paul Stuart Holiday Catalog, and as anyone who reads Simply Refined with any frequency can attest to, I have a great love for Paul Stuart and their take on American luxury staples. As far as I’m concerned, they are the perfect embodiment of that classic, but slightly dandified American attitude.

Although you can catch a tiny glimpse of the button-up shirt behind the scarf, what I love about this look is that it highlights how elegant one can look without all the trappings of tailoring and haberdashery – the fact that the cardigan looks so cozy and the scarf as soft as a cloud doesn’t hurt either.  Soft and casual go so fantastically together, yet I would never mistake this gent for anything but distinguished.  Obviously I’m a big fan of various shirt, sweater, and jacket combinations, but sometimes you just have to break out of the box.

As an aside, Paul Stuart’s new holiday collection might be their best ever.  And that’s saying something.
